August 2009 at the Toll House

I have been thinking ever since I wrote on my blog in July of 2009. I really miss blogging. My friends got me into the Facebook thing and I go online and check it out each time I am online. That is good, but I don't very often write anything - somehow it just doesn't feel like me.

Blogging on the other hand does feel like me and I miss it. So here I am once again trying to figure out how to keep my house reasonably neat, all the housewife "stuff" done, work at Harris and Blog .... For an "OLD" person it feels like a full plate, one I don't feel strong enough to carry around sometimes. But I will figure it all out.

I have decided to blog once a week or possibly once a month. This month I guess it will be once a month considering the month is almost over. Well you know it was a birthday month, school started and I grew older, so one blog entry this month was all I could manage.

School started August 12. and my Principal, Mrs. Kehrt, was kind enough to let me come back and share the school days with the 3rd graders at Harris Elementary. What a joy those days are.

I turned old this month, also, and as Lee likes to point out he is now three quarters of a century older. Whew that makes me tired - and what is worse I will be there before I am ready to say '75'.

I gave Lee a brick for his birthday which will be located at the Veteran's Memorial in Greenfield. He was quite excited and happy to be the recipient of this gift. It seemed appropriate since he was Spec 5 Lee R. Towle when I first met him in Alexandria, Virginia - half a century ago (well 51 years to be exact).

Guess that is all that I can report for this month. A lot more happened like - well - lets just say the rest of the happenings were boring, mundane events and I'll close with ...........
Happy end of August to all my blogging friends !!!
